Sandals

I am in a good mood today. I got to wear my new sandals for the first time this year, even if it is only from home to work, during lunch break, and from work to home. Work has a whole "pantyhose or socks" rule and therefore I can't wear sandals that have a "toe thing" like flip flops or the ones that I wore today. It sucks.

I am a true sandal person. I love sandals. I have pretty feet and I love toe rings and I have so much nail polish it looks like a salon at my house. I love pedicures. I love to be barefoot. I probably have 20 pair of sandals. At least. And that's not counting dressy sandals. But I can't wear them to work. But I can wear them in the garden, and fishing, and camping, and pretty much anywhere else. For some reason, every pair of sandals means something. I can distinctly remember doing SOMETHING when I wore those sandals.

My Star Spangled Old Navy Flip Flops, for example. I wore those in theWyanet parade last year when I walked for work. The asphalt was sticky and my flip flops kept getting stuck to the road, it was hot that day. There is still asphalt stuck to the bottoms. I wore them during the big hail storm last summer. My pink striped sandals (I call them fruit strip like the fruit stripe gum) I wore camping and fishing and to the beer gardens. They are from old navy and are probably three years old this year. I love them. I am wearing the stripes off, just like I am wearing the stars out of my star-spangled flip flops.

I have Turquoise sandals that I wore when I got married and Turquoise Sketchers sandals that I wore when walking around Vancouver. I have white platform flip flops that I bought on the beach in Panama City Beach while on vacation, cuz they looked so great with my french tip pedicure and my white capri pants, and with my black and white swimsuit. I wore them again on the flight to Vancouver, for our wedding, and I remember taking them off at airport security. My friend Lisa taught me that white flip flops come sparkling clean if you scrub them with an old toothbrush and toothpaste. For real.

I have leather sandals that I bought when my sister and I went shopping. I have pink flip flops with flowers that mom bought me and I wore for my bridal shower at Mom's, and a pair of turquoise flip flops with cool "turquoise discs" on them that I wore to my other bridal shower.

The sandal population just grows and grows.

Ok, this may be the greatest bit of information...ever. Does it work with ALL flips or just white?

aaaaaaaaaaah, sandles. I love sandles. Summer here isn't very long or very hot so I get to wear my sandles for probably a month, maybe two if I am lucky, and only when I am cycling because they are just too annoying to walk from one end of the city to the other.

I love those striped sandles!

There's actually a brand of pantyhose, called Tohos, made for sandals and other shoes with the "toe thing".

I'm sure you'd rather be barefoot, but if you want to wear your sandals at work, that's a solution.
