So most of you know that I read Wicked, and love love loved that book. I am about 3/4 of the way through with Son of a Witch, and I have been a little disappointed. Wicked set Liir up to be someone that you really didn't have a feeling about one way or the other. He was just "there." And I am having a hard time getting over that. For at least the first half of the book I was like "where is this going?" Is he going to find out who he is? It seems like he doesn't really care. Is he going to find Nor? Is he going to do this or that? It was like he had no GOALS. I found him more than mildly annoying. It's hard to read a book when you find the main character annoying. The book is good... don't get me wrong, but I just feel like it could be so much BETTER if Liir were a riveting character. Maybe it's just that any book read after the DaVinci Code would pale by comparison? I am just curious if anyone else read Son of a Witch and what you thought. Don't give it away, I still have the last 1/4 to read, and I really hope it gets juicier.
