Another Christmas Present from my mom & dad was money for my braided rug. This will go in the living room, and I had originally picked out the golden sunset rug. But now upon further review, I am enchanted also by the Colonial Red Rug. It is hard to tell by the picture if the red one is just TOO red or if there is orange included. The deal is, you don't want to order the wrong one, spend a buttload on shipping (heavy item) and then have the wrong one, which you will have to pay to ship back, and then have to pay AGAIN to ship out the right one. My gut is telling me to safely go with the golden sunset rug, but then again I know how cool the other one could be if it matches like I think it might. Originally I was planning on using the Golden Sunset one to pull the green in the curtains in with the rest of the room, because it has green. But now that I have ditched the old green curtains (in that room) and added new burnt orange ones.... and the orange wall.... and lots of golden, red, and orange accents- I am thinking that it might just look cool with the red one. But there has to be lots of oranges in it. So I am left to call Customer Service and hope I get someone with some design sense that can answer a product question for me. Otherwise, I am flying blind. And it isn't like they can send me a sample of a braided rug... so....I called Country Door. The customer service rep told me that because it is dyed wool, it is likely that there will be some variations in the coloring and there would probably be some oranges, especially burnt oranges. Plus there are browns in it, which will go nicely with our new furniture when it arrives. I was excited, thinking if I order it today, it will be here and we can get it down before the furniture comes, but then I see it is on backorder until January 18th. So it may or may not get here before the furniture. Argh. So if it DOESN'T get here first, we will have to move furniture out and then put the rug down and then put the furniture back in. Oh well. What can you do?
That's like Anya trying to get her kitchen aid mixer exchanged at Kohl's (not enough in stock, has to take a rain check) and my sister trying to use her Victoria's Secret Gift Card but getting to the store and they have no underwear in stock. It's incredibly frustrating. I mean, hello, it was just Christmahannakwanzica and any moron knows that means HIGH DEMAND so order some extra crap people! My rug on backorder, our furniture halfway across the ocean, half of Sears' craftsman toolsets out of stock, Victoria's Secret is out of undies, Kohl's out of everything, and everyone just stands around looking dumb.
So anyway, I ordered the Colonial Red Rug from Country Door and I ordered my telephone table, thanks to Mom and Dad for fabulous Christmas Presents!
